Colorado Springs-area apartment rents soared to another record high in the second quarter, and multi-family industry experts say rents probably will continue to climb. Average rents spiked to $1,140.40 per month during the April through June period – a $150.25, or 15.2 percent, jump over the same period in 2016, according to a report by the Colorado Division of Housing and Apartment Association of Southern Colorado. Rents now have set record highs for nine consecutive quarters, going back to the second quarter of 2015; they’ve also increased for 30 straight quarters on a year-over-year basis, the Housing Division and Apartment Association report shows.
